Welcome To YFC/Youth Unlimited Edmonton Greetings everyone! Thank you to all of those who have helped us with our DROP project for Burundi Africa. We filled 3 - 40’ containers for some of the poorest people on the face of this earth, Burundi, Africa. We’ve managed to collect; generators, a water pump system , school supplies, rice & soup stock, 5 vehicles, clothes, bikes, computers, tools & sewing machines, and so much more. This will help many mission groups, teen prostitutes, child soldiers, orphans, street kids & many more. It will help ease poverty in numerous ways. This has been made possible by youth actively taking initiatives locally. As well as people of all sorts who have a heart to make a difference in this world. We believe that this is a powerful way to genuinley show Christ's love. If you’ve already taken part in this project, we want to thank you. The voiceless Burundians thank you. We were fortunate enough to be speak on local TV & radio, as well as local schools, giving a report. We are still hoping for some more help with various parts of the project costs. We walk this earth, spending our life looking for love, purpose and meaning. Youth today are looking to find their way in the midst of our troubled and broken world. At YFC we couldn’t imagine youth work without meaningful, purpose-filled relationships. To live life deeply with one another, not just giving information. We live in an age of information overload. Unless you’re prepared to love people as Christ does, our message will be reduced to another religious voice in our world. Christ came to show a new way, not another religion. We do this by caring for the whole person. We aren't interested in peddling or pushing anything. Edmonton YFC has been around for almost 60 years locally. Today our team is growing & flourishing with new partnerships & programs. Our hope is to continue to develop youth programs where there is none. Here are some of our programs: Wetaskiwin/Millet/Hobbema - includes outreach through floor hockey leagues, skateboarding, campus, music events and drop in centers. Young Mom’s - has been around for the last 5 years. Community & mentoring for pregnant & parenting young mothers. Minusnegative - is focused on influencing youth culture in a positive way through campus, concerts, street outreach, youth church, & social actions. St. Albert - is starting up! D.R.O.P. - is Daring to Reach Orphaned People, we want to motivate youth to change the world one person, one action at a time.
